In 1991, Mr. Ervins was drafted by the Washington Redskins. During his rookie season he rushed for 680 yards and was instrumental in helping the Redskins secure a Super Bowl victory - bringing another Super Bowl Championship ring home to Pasadena, CA. Mr. Ervins was Super Bowl XXVI leading rusher, with 72 yards on 13 carries.
Mr. Ervins was inducted into John Muir High Schools Hall of Fame in 2009.

As one of the best high school running backs in the nation his junior and senior seasons, Ricky Ervins helped lead the John Muir Mustangs to California Big-School Coastal Conference titles in 1985 and 1986, with a perfect 14-0 record his senior season.
Mr. Ervins was also a member of the John Muir High School's boys track & field state championship relay team.
During his junior season at the University of Southern California, he led the PAC-10 in rushing with 1,395 yards and a team high 10 touchdowns. He also caught 39 catches that season, the most ever by a Trojan running back.
In 1990, Mr. Ervins was named Rose Bowl Most Valuable Player in the Trojans 17-10 defeat over Michigan. Mr. Ervins rushed for 126 yards.
